In a pinch, I chose Pepita Bananas as a name because this is the nickname we came up for our youngest daughter, Mary Josephine aka "Josie". One day our oldest was going through her Spanish book and noticed the nickname for Josie was "Pepita". We coupled it with "Bananas" and a nickname was born. It's not exactly the most "Catholic" name for a site that's centered around the Faith, but I think it works. :)
What do you use to make the bows?
Unless otherwise stated these bows are all 4-4.5" inches and made from high quality grosgrain ribbon. Ends are heat sealed to prevent fraying and great care is taken into making each bow special for your needs. Some companies tout 'professionally heat sealed' ends. I didn't go to any particular trade school to learn how to heat seal, but I can assure you I have put energy into making sure the ends don't fray.
Some bows may have a different knot than shown in the picture, but all knots *will* coordinate with the bow.
Can I place an order to you directly via e-mail?
Absolutely! Place your order by sending an e-mail to orders{at}pepitabananas{dot}com. In the subject line, simply write "order" and include what you're interested in, how many and your 'ship to' address as well as the e-mail you wish to have the invoice sent to. I will then send you a PayPal invoice. It's very simple to do.
Do I need a PayPal account to order?
No, you don't. Although I use PayPal for invoicing and payments, you do not need a PayPal account to order. Once you've submitted your order via e-mail, you will receive an invoice directly from me. Follow the steps to complete your payment and that's it!
How much is shipping?
Shipping is a flat rate of $4, whether you buy one or fifteen bows {you know you want to buy fifteen bows!}.

When will my order ship?
If it is in stock, it will ship three business days after payment is received - exceptions to this would be illness, vacation or any unforeseen situation that prevents me from shipping. Custom orders {sometimes including saint bows} may take longer since they are made when the order is placed.
What shipping method do you use?
We ship via USPS by First Class. It typically takes 3-9 business days. If you would like your order quicker, I can offer you Priority Mail for a flat rate of $7. It will take 2-3 days to reach you this way.
Do I have to pay sales tax?
If you live in Texas, standard tax rates of 8.25% apply.
Do you ship internationally?
Regrettably no, not at this time.
Do you take custom orders to match private school colors?
Currently, custom orders are on hold. For now, saint bows are available for purchase. I hope to bring custom orders back soon.
Do you have a store front?
No, this is online only. Hey, when you have six kiddos it's all you can do to get on the phone once in a blue moon. :)
What types of clips do you use?
I use the 1 3/4" alligator hair clips {used for the larger bows}
What if my daughter has thick, curly hair? What clips will work best?
The alligator clip is the best for keeping hair back and in place, but the snap clips work just as well.
Why do you have a 'donate' button on the main page?
It's an interesting concept to come across - the purpose of the "donate" button has to do with the familiar phrase of "some people give by going and some people go by giving." If you've ever given your time to a good cause, or if you've ever written a check for a good cause, this phrase makes sense. Not everyone wants or needs a bow, but everyone can help back Catholic pro-life ministries by sending in a monetary donation of your choice amount on behalf of Pepita Bananas.
